USTRC Triad Format vs. WTRC # Format

We received a question last week from a roper in Montana asking, "Why did you decide to switch from using a WTRC # Format to a USTRC # Format? Here in Montana, there are not many USTRC events, so my concern is that you will confuse ropers in this area. Hopefully, they would be smart enough to figure out that you are using the Triad Format, but upon the first reading of your 2010 Format, I saw the #10 payouts for that cash roping you will be having and thought to myself those are great payouts, but as a #2 WTRC card holder, I will not be able to compete at that level. The effort put forth in this weblog is to establish & maintain communication with past contestants & future contestants who are similarly committed to quality team roping events that are run in a professional, honest, & timely manner. We have all attended a few of those team ropings where we put in quite a bit of money & place, only to win a tin can buckle and a little cash. We then spend the ride home trying to figure out exactly where our money went... Well, this ain't one of those. We, as producers, owe the ropers who are spending their hard earned money at our events a clear & concise explanation of EXACTLY where the payouts at our specific events go. In 2009 at the Summer Classic, there was some misinterpretation - on our part - in regard to payout percentages and how they work... These mistakes were quickly corrected and further events were properly advertised. It is for that specific reason we will have an OPEN BOOKS policy at all of our 2010 Events. R2R encourages contestants to come by and ask for a payout sheet from each numbered roping after that roping has completed; We will have the payout sheets all printed off for your review. Our objective is complete honesty; not the appearance of complete honesty. Try asking at other ropings you attend and see if they are willing to release the payout sheets to you. Most of them probably will; some will not...
